NetEngine 8000 M Series

NetEngine 8000 M Series

Huawei's NetEngine 8000 M series comprises the M14, the M8 and the M4, which compact full-scenario aggregation routers designed for the 5G and cloud era. These routers feature a large capacity, compact design, high reliability, and wide range of ports. The M series provides SRv6 capabilities, simplifying network protocols and providing application-level SLA assurance. The M series routers can smoothly evolve to larger capacities. With Huawei's NetEngine 8000 M series routers, customers can implement multi-service bearing and build simplified, converged, and intelligent ultra-broadband metro networks.

Large Capacity and High Reliability

The NetEngine 8000 M series provides a maximum capacity of 2 Tbps. The M series meets the requirements for large-capacity and converged service bearing on IP networks in the 5G and cloud era. In addition, the M series routers adopt a redundancy design for key components to ensure that the M series provides stable services to customers.

Compact Design

The NetEngine 8000 M series routers adopt a new hardware platform. The M Series is only 220 mm deep and can be easily installed in a 300 mm-deep cabinet. The NetEngine 8000 M14 is only 5 U high, the NetEngine 8000 M8 is only 3 U high and the NetEngine 8000 M4 is only 2 U high, reducing the footprint in equipment rooms by more than 20% compared with the industry average.

Diversified Ports

The NetEngine 8000 M series routers provide diversified ports, including 100GE, 50GE, 40GE, 25GE, and 10GE ports, and low-speed ports such as E1, CPOS, POS, FE, and GE ports, to meet the requirements of various access scenarios.

All-Scenario Platform

The NetEngine 8000 M series is an all-scenario platform that can be used as an SR, PE, DC gateway, or broadband network gateway (BNG), simplifying network layers and node complexity. All services can be deployed on one router, the M series support full-service convergence, such as SR, BNG, CGN, IPSec.

It supports a wide range of software features, including SRv6, network slicing (FlexE), and In-situ Flow Information Telemetry (iFIT). SRv6 enables automated connections across domains, service provisioning within minutes, and one-hop access to the cloud. It also supports intelligent traffic steering based on policies such as latency and bandwidth for applications and tenants on the cloud, allowing on-demand scheduling of network resources and guaranteeing SLAs for different services. FlexE realizes one network for multiple purposes, thereby saving customer investment. In addition, with iFIT, the M series achieves real-time visualization of network service quality and facilitates fast fault demarcation and locating.
