Huawei CloudEngine 1800V is a distributed virtual switch designed for virtualized environments in cloud data centers. Huawei CloudEngine 1800V can be flexibly combined with CloudEngine series hardware switches and Agile Controller-DCN to provide customers with the Hybrid overlay virtualization data center SDN solution or Network Overlay Extension container data center solution. It can be to meet the requirements of hybrid access scenarios such as VMs, containers, and physical machines.
Innovative forwarding architecture provides the industry’s highest performance: Huawei’s CloudEngine 1800V supports both the traditional IP forwarding and OpenFlow architectures to enable flexible deployment. The CloudEngine 1800V uses user-mode forwarding framework and improved Data Plane Development Kit (DPDK) technology to provide 12Gbit per core forwarding rate.
Open interfaces enable interoperation with mainstream compute virtualization platforms: Huawei’s CloudEngine 1800V supports openflow 1.3 and Open vSwitch Database Management Protocol (OVSDB). An SDN controller can use OVSDB to configure and manage the CloudEngine 1800V.
Distributed virtual firewall provides fine-grained security protection for VM ports: Security policies can be configured based on virtual ports, including protocols, ports or connection states. A virtual firewall records connection states and provides east-west traffic isolation and access control based on security policies.
