KPN is a Dutch multinational telecommunications company. As part of its expansion, KPN launched the Magnum project under its international arm - KPN International. KPN International and Huawei jointly partnered to design, build and implement the world’s first private cloud Mobile Virtual Network Enabling Platform (MVNE) as a re-usable capability that will grow its international business through mobile virtual network operations (MVNO).

The KPN International and Huawei joint innovation of a breakthrough multi-tenant platform includes full BSS, Core Network and VAS components. The integrated architecture is serving multi-brand MVNOs across four different countries with centralized administration and simplified brand go-to-market.

Across the highly competitive European market, MVNOs play a significant role with KPN International serving four successful brands at reduced operational costs and time to market for products and services. By engaging with Huawei for Integration Services and Managed Services, KPN International has centralized infrastructure, consolidated services and virtualized Business and Service IT operations in a private Cloud instance.

The Magnum project delivers a new Operational model for CSPs looking to deploy MVNOs and has achieved an increase in operations efficiency, customer satisfaction and helped to have MVNO brands focus on the market.
