Hutchison, Hong Kong has a long-term strategic partnership with Huawei. Hutchison's LTE network deployed under cooperation of Huawei was available for commercial use in May, 2012. Thanks to the rapid development of the intelligent terminals and growth of subscriber data services, Hutchison gained a year-on-year growth of 15% in the first half of 2012, up to 5.241 billion HKD.
Compared with 2G/3G services, data roaming services contribute splendid profits and are increasing continuously. Hutchison needs to deploy more LTE roaming services to increase revenue, maintain competitiveness, and improve user satisfaction.

Simplified connections and quick deployment
Hutchison cooperated with Huawei to deploy the DEA on LTE networks. The DEA functions as the unified node to interwork with external NEs, reducing LTE roaming interconnection workload. Diameter signaling supports flexible routing, which meets Hutchison's customized requirements. In addition, the DEA provides signaling adaptation capabilities to meet requirements of different networks and devices provided by different suppliers, facilitating quick deployment of LTE roaming services.
Precise Operation of Signaling Analysis System
Hutchison deployed the SANEX to perform roaming signaling analysis for purposes of precise operation. The SANEX collects all roaming signaling messages, analyzes and integrates Diameter signaling messages to make the network, traffic, and services visible. This enhances fault identification and service behavior identification and guides network capacity expansion and resource coordination.
Attracting 3G Subscribers to Use 4G Services
The Huawei LTE roaming solution provides the protocol conversion capability. Hutchison enables 3G subscribers to log in to 4G networks without performing complex network reconstruction. Subscribers can use 4G super broadband services, and Hutchison gains more revenue.
Carrier Benefits
It takes about three months from performing tests to launching roaming services. Hutchison devices successfully interconnected to Syniverse IPX and Aicent IPX. This is the first success of LTE roaming services in Hong Kong, greatly improving Hutchison competitiveness. As the MBB era is arriving, LTE roaming services will bring more profits for Hutchison.
