Huawei and Three Major UK Operators Make World's First Multi-operator 5G Video Call
- Huawei and Three Major UK Operators made the world's first video call across multiple operators' 5G networks
-
- This means that major UK operators are well poised for large-scale rollout of 5G and have 5G networks available for commercial use
- The UK can be considered a global leader in 5G technology and network deployment.
- Ryan Ding, Huawei Executive Director of the Board and Carrier BG President: "Huawei now has industry-leading capabilities to deliver end-to-end 5G, We are leading the commercial rollout of 5G, and building a mature industry ecosystem."
Simplified 5G solutions for quick, large-scale 5G deployment globally
- Huawei is committed to taking complexity itself and creating simplicity for its customers. To this end, the company has launched leading end-to-end 5G solutions that support networks of all standards and all bands, including C-Band, 3.5 GHz, and 2.6 GHz. This will help customers access the best available wireless and microwave services.
- Huawei has also launched a super blade base station. All base station units use the blade form factor and can be installed outdoors. Different modules can be combined as needed, making 5G base station installation as simple and easy as putting building blocks together.
- Compared with existing antennas and remote radio units (RRUs) working on all bands, Huawei's latest 5G active antenna units (AAUs) are 50% smaller and 23% lighter, helping operators deploy 5G networks faster.
At the pre-briefing, Huawei also introduced its 5G SkySite that contains a 5G book RRU, with less weight, wider coverage, and more capacity. It supports emergency communications during disaster relief and provides technical assurance in order to rescue more lives.
Innovation inspiring new growth: RuralStar Lite
Huawei launched the RuralStar Lite solution, which targets users in remote regions. The solution cuts the CAPEX to about US$20,000 and shortens the ROI cycle to about two years.
With this solution, network deployment in remote regions will be a compelling business case, and this will be critical for connecting the unconnected and bridging the digital divide.
“There are still many people unconnected, Huawei’s innovative RuralStar Lite solution brings more connections to them. “Peng Song, President of Marketing & Solution Sales Dept of Huawei's Carrier BG, said, ”Huawei is dedicated to take more social responsibility for no people left behind and no place forgotten.”
Wireless network automation solutions for autonomous driving networks
At the pre-briefing, Huawei launched a series of wireless network automation products and solutions, including the MBB Automation Engine (MAE) and a base station with super-large computing power.
These solutions adopt the innovative autonomous driving network architecture. Its purpose is to deliver a better service experience and enable faster network operations by automating customer work flows.
Peter Zhou, Chief Marketing Officer of Huawei's Wireless Network Product Line, said, "5G development will be faster than ever. We will bring 5G to reality as soon as possible through simplified and autonomous driving networks."
