Improving business-technology operations through an integrated best-of-suite business system


Cell C is one of the key mobile telecommunications service providers in South Africa. Cell C boasts a highly sophisticated mobile network with modernized capabilities to deliver superior services and customer experience. Cell C and Huawei partnered as a part of a vision to transform business and operations from the multitude of vertical systems, and service management families. This was to help deliver a best of suite framework that aligned to the industry (such as TM Forum and ITIL) so as to achieve standardization, interoperability and regulatory compliance.

Huawei offered its award winning best-of-suite next generation BSS architecture to help Cell C transform from the fragmented legacy environment. Using TM Forum frameworx as the standard business operations management model, Huawei provided assessment of business processes, design and implementation of new business processes based on its Next Generation BSS platform. This aligned business processes with TM Forum eTOM and TAM with the integration of processes into application modules - CRM, CBS, IPCC, Mediation and Provisioning - to deliver a fully integrated suite. This has brought a unified operating environment to Cell C’s focus on the customer.

Haven delivered a successful implementation of the NGBSS solution, Cell C furthered the engagement with Huawei on a managed services program which included transitioning of HR personnel from Cell C to Huawei. The success of the managed services is empowering Cell C to launch new innovative services in-time, reducing billing-related complaints and improving IT efficiency.
