Due to different construction phases and spectrum bands, the coverage and signal stability of an operator’s LTE network is usually inferior to those of his G/U network. In areas of poor or no LTE coverage, users will fall back to the 2G or 3G network, which greatly diminishes their experience. In that case, those used to watching 720P videos have to switch to 360P or sometimes even fail to watch them at all. For operators, it is not only about data loss, but loss of customer satisfaction.
Huawei's fallback user migration solution will estimate the amount of data loss by analyzing camping ratio. It also allows display of fallback times and data traffic on a grid map so that areas of poor LTE coverage can be identified immediately. Then new eNodeBs can be deployed to strengthen LTE coverage, improve camping ratio, and avoid data loss. Therefore, operators can build up a stronger brand image.
