Huawei's service intelligence gateway (SIG) system uses high-performance hardware and patented service awareness technologies to analyze and process network data packets, and to provide smart and flexible service control. It can be deployed on fixed, wireless, or converged networks to provide functions such as traffic analysis, bandwidth management, and network security defense. In addition, the SIG system supports distributed deployment and centralized management, and provides flexible scalability. With over a decade of development, the SIG system currently serves 70+ carriers in over 50 countries, providing critical support for carriers in traffic visualization, smart operation and maintenance, and service innovation.

The smart network controller (SNC) is core to the Huawei SDN solution. Used in the industry-leading RR+, PCE+, and IP+ optical solutions, the SNC helps carriers implement traffic tuning, improve network resource usage, simplify network operation and maintenance, and reduce the TCO. The SNC adapts to an ever-changing network or service, and can be deployed in a flexible, automatic, and smart way as the network evolves. It ensures service continuity and provides users with simple, reliable, smart, and highly scalable network control services. The southbound interface between the SNC and the forwarding-plane device supports a variety of protocols, including OpenFlow, BGP, NetCONF, and PCEP, to satisfy almost any scenario on the live network, facilitate the smooth evolution towards an SDN network, and protect carriers' return on investment. In addition, the SNC provides abundant northbound interfaces for customization and rapid service innovation.
