OSN 500 is new-generation optical transmission equipment developed by Huawei. It adopts the TDM + packet (MPLS/MPLS-TP-based) dual-domain architecture and supports a variety of service access modes. It mainly applies to the access layer of metropolitan area networks (MANs) and local transmission networks to access services over VIP private lines and from wireless base stations.
Chassis dimensions: 442 mm x 220 mm x 44 mm (W x D x H)
OSN 500 supports service bearing in both the time division multiplexing (TDM) domain and the packet domain. With the dual-domain networking, the OSN 500 can achieve smooth evolution from the TDM network to the packet switching network (PSN).
OSN 500 supports the circuit emulation service (CES) technology, which allows direct transmission of TDM E1 services and channelized STM-1 services in the packet domain, implementing smooth evolution from the TDM domain to the packet domain.
The TP-assist implements care-free maintenance solutions for packet transport networks (PTNs) based on the MPLS/MPLS-TP architecture. The OSN 500 provides a planning tool for PTNs, which enables end-to-end visible service configuration of media gateways and instrument-free site deployment. Moreover, the OSN 500 supports automatic fault locating and performance monitoring of packet services.
