Agile IP Longhaul Microwave - Huawei

Agile IP Longhaul Microwave

Huawei RTN Agile IP Longhaul Microwave is the new generation longhaul microwave transmission system, which Huawei develops with more flexible design. It can support up to 16Gbps ultra high capacity, IF combination and maximum 12 links EPLA, mainly meet the requirements of great bandwidth and IP trend for the longhaul microwave solution.

All-IP: Full-Service Transmission, Smooth Network Evolution

As the industry's first IP microwave that supports E2E MPLS-TP and IP/MPLS (L3VPN), RTN 900 can be used to construct connectivity-oriented packet networks. It supports unified transmission of TDM/ATM/IP services and smooth evolution to packet networks, allowing operators to fully utilize the existing network infrastructure.

RTN 900 takes the lead in supporting both high-precision IEEE 1588v2 and synchronous Ethernet, meeting phase and frequency synchronization requirements of 2G, 3G, and LTE base stations. This lessens the need for GPS equipment on the base stations side, thereby reducing GPS deployment and maintenance costs and saving network TCO.

Ultra Broadband: Efficient Mobile Backhaul

RTN 900 utilizes hitless adaptive modulation (AM), which supports switching among 13 levels of modulation schemes (QPSK to 4096QAM), to adjust bandwidth based on link quality over the air interface, which enhances spectral efficiency. Compared with the fixed modulation mode, the AM technology can increase transmission bandwidth by up to 6 times.

Thanks to the cross polarization interference cancellation (XPIC) and four-layer frame header compression technologies, the maximized capacity of one channel can reach 2.5 Gbit/s, providing large bandwidth for mobile backhaul.

With enhanced physical link aggregation (EPLA), RTN 900 can aggregate a maximum of 12 IF links, enabling load sharing of up to 10 Gbit/s Ethernet services and meeting the bandwidth requirements of LTE.

Networking Microwave Solution, Reducing CAPEX and OPEX

With a built-in TDM/packet dual-bus switching platform, RTN 900 can implement E2E switching of TDM and packet services, allowing for quick service provisioning and multi-direction networking.

RTN 900 and optical equipment can be managed through a unified NMS, which empowers E2E service deployment. A full outdoor microwave solution is also available, facilitating site acquisition.
